How to make and fill a Feel Good book!

Updated: Mar 25, 2023

Have you ever not been able to find quite the right gift for someone very special to you? Or have you thought that someone you know doesn't realize how special they are and how much you love them? My aunt has the answer to your problems! :):):):):)

As many of you have probably done, my aunt would leave little notes for her daughter to find when my aunt went on trips. It started when my cousin was a kid, but when she grew up and had her own children, they wanted notes from my aunt, their grandmother, too! Then one Christmas, my aunt decided to make her daughter an inspiration or Feel Good book. Can you guess what happened? My cousin's kids wanted them, too!

When I started my blog, my aunt offered to explain to me how she makes them, so I could tell all of you! Let's get started!

How to make someone a Feel Good book:

Step 1 You need a book! This can be a journal you buy or one you put together yourself with paper and ribbon. My aunt says spiral bound notebooks work best because you can tape thicker items on the pages. She also said adding a ribbon bookmark is really nice!

Step 2 Fill your Feel Good book with good! Here are some pictures of pages that my aunt put in her grandkids' books. (My favorite is the ABCs of the person you are giving the book to.)

Step 3(or kind of more of Step 2) Inspirational quotes

When my aunt sees inspirational quotes or signs, she takes pictures of them so later she can put them in the books. There are tons of amazing quotes out there! If you're still not sure what quotes to write in the book, look up happy quotes by someone whom the person you are giving the book to really likes! Hint: another good place to find quotes is the Happy Day bulletin board page. ;)

Step 4 Give the person their Feel Good book!!!

My aunt gives them their journals and then later takes them back to put more in, so don't feel like you have to fill the whole journal.

Step 5 Just some other useful ideas from my aunt and I.

1. Add stickers or pictures to the pages. Or if you love drawing, draw something on it!

2. You can always print out a quote, but handwritten things make the book extra special!

3. Remember to build in the recipient's favorite things. Also, make sure it comes out in the book how special they are!!

4. Have fun with it!!!

I hope that you have fun with this and that it helps you make someone else smile!

Smiles and hugs!!!

This is Beamy now! If making someone an entire book seems like too much work, you can also just give them a hug and say thank you! I did this for my Aunt Morningglory!
